The soft and sweet romance between Mahiru and Amane is ready to sweep you off your feet once again!
Announced during the GA FES 2026 livestream event, the long-awaited second season of “The Angel Next Door Spoils Me Rotten” is gearing up for a sweet and heart-racing premiere on 3 April, 2026, as part of the Spring lineup of the anime season.
The announcement, which was also made on the anime’s official X (formerly Twitter) account, included a brand new visual, which features the main cast:
A simultaneous premiere is yet to be revealed for global fans.

Chihiro Kumano has replaced Lihua Wang as director for the second season at studio Project No. 9. Keiichiro Ochi is returning as series composer, while Takayuki Noguchi retains his role as character designer. Other staff members include:

The anime is based on a light novel series written by Saekisan and illustrated by Hanekoto. The illustrator Hanekoto posted a drawing of Mahiru on their official X account to celebrate the upcoming release of season 2. The manga adaptation of the series is illustrated by Suzu Yūki. The anime streamed its first season back in March 2023 and was immensely popular amongst romance fans. Square Enix publishes the manga on their Manga Up! website, and describes the story as:
Amane Fujimiya , a high school student, lives by himself in his apartment. Next to him lives Mahiru Shiina, the prettiest girl at school. Someone who everyone calls "an angel." They never really talk, but when Amane lends Mahiru his umbrella on a rainy day, their relationship starts to blossom.
Before long Mahiru finds out that Amane neglects his cooking and cleaning, and she feels obligated to step in.
Although they have zero interest in one another, they slowly find themselves growing closer...
This is the bittersweet love story of a young man and his beautiful, sharp-tongued neighbor.
