The upcoming sequel is the 23rd season of the Precure TV anime.
The Precure (Pretty Cure) anime series is coming back soon with its 23rd main installation titled “Star Detective Precure!” The show will air on 1 February, 2026. Ahead of the release, the official accounts of the anime revealed new cast, staff, and theme song artists in the latest update.
Star Detective Precure! anime details
The three new characters and their voice actors who will appear in the upcoming anime are:
- Hikari Senga as Cure Answer/Anna Akechi
- Kaede Hondo as Cure Mystic/Mikuru Kobayashi
- Nao Tōyama as Cure Arcana Shadow/Ruruka Moria
Other cast members include:
- Emiri Katō as Pochitan
- Hina Yomiya as Mashtan
- Yuki Kaji as Jet Senpai
Two other characters Cure Eclair and Shushutan have also been revealed, although their voice actors haven’t been announced yet.
The upcoming Star Detective Precure! revolves around second year middle school student Anna Akechi. She travels from 2027 to 1999 when ‘Pochitan’, her companion fairy, first appears on her birthday. In 1999, Anna meets Mikuru Kobayashi, another middle schooler who wants to become a great detective. The two girls start investigating the Phantom Thieves, who are stealing people’s precious belongings. They turn into Precure detectives and use their deductive abilities to stop these crimes and restore people’s smiles.
Ami Ishii is performing the opening theme song of the series ‘Heart ni Hint! Detective Precure!’ while the ending theme song ‘Naze? Nazo?! ANSWER’ is being performed by Akane Kumada and Yūka Masui.
Koji Kawasaki directs the upcoming anime at Toei Animation with Isao Murayama handling series composition. Akane Yano designs the characters while Miki Imai handles art design. Eiji Hamano is the Chief Art Director while Satoshi Takezawa handles colour design. Yoshiyuki Anzai is the compositing director of photography, while Erika Fukasawa and Misaki Umase compose the series’ music together.
