A brand new teaser video has been revealed for the upcoming anime film Sound! Euphonium The Final Movie Part 1. The trailer revealed that the movie will premiere in Japan on 24 April, 2026. The details were revealed at the Kyoto Animation fan event recently.
The ‘Part 1’ at the end of the movie’s name suggests that the final crescendo of this musical franchise will have more films, but no details have been revealed about them yet. The final movies are compilation films for the third and final season of the anime series.
Sound! Euphonium The Final Movie Part 1 details
The new trailer gives the audience a glimpse of the characters and story of the upcoming movie. Advanced tickets for the anime movie will go on sale in Japan on 31 October, 2025. They will come with one of four clear files, which have the girls from the anime paired up and posing in casual streetwear. A brand new key visual featuring Kumiko and Reina has also been released.
Kyoto Animation continues to produce the musical anime film. Taichi Ogawa is directing the movie with previous director Tatsuya Ishihara acting as the chief director. Jukki Hanada continues his role as the series composer from the anime. Shoko Ikeda and Kazumi Ikeda both continue as character designers with Kazumi also taking up the role of chief animation director. Akito Matsuda, in cooperation with Senzoku Gakuen College of Music and Progressive Wind Orchestra, is handling the music composition of the movie.
The Sound! Euphonium anime is based on Ayano Takeda’s novel series. Crunchyroll streams all seasons of the anime and describes the story as:
Spring in the first year of high school. Kumiko, a member of the brass band in junior high school, visits the high school brass band club with classmates Hazuki and Sapphire. There, she comes across Reina, her former classmate from junior high. Hazuki and Sapphire decide to join the club, but Kumiko can’t make up her mind. She recollects her experience with Reina at a competition in junior high school.
