Seirei Gensouki: Spirit Chronicles will return for a third season.
Good news for Seirei Gensouki fans! The official website for the television anime adaptation of Yuri Kitayama’s Seirei Gensouki light novel has announced that the series will return for a third season, two years after Season 2 aired.
The announcement was made on Wednesday, although further details about the upcoming season have yet to be revealed.
What do we know about Seirei Gensouki Season 3?
The third season will continue the story of Seirei Gensouki: Spirit Chronicles, although its premiere date and production details have yet to be announced.
More information about the cast and staff is also expected to be revealed at a later date.
The official website released a celebratory message from series creator Yuri Kitayama, which reads (English translation):
"What about Season 3?" "Is there a Season 3?"
The decision to produce a third season is all thanks to the fans—both in Japan and abroad—who continued to share their passionate support even after Season 2 ended.
In Season 1, Rio swore revenge. In Season 2, he finally reunited with the target of that vengeance. Yet, by his side, there is also his mentor, Celia, and Miharu—the childhood friend he loved in his past life...
The past life and the present life.
The happiness right here beside him now, versus the happiness from back then—a happiness he can no longer grasp.
What will Rio reach out for?
Or perhaps, what will he try to distance himself from?
Reflecting on this, the theme I focused on when writing the original story was: "It is incredibly important to put your feelings into words and convey them."
After all, if you don't communicate them, you are essentially dumping the entire burden of that unspoken sentiment onto the other person.
That burden is invisible to the eye, yet it certainly accumulates within the other person.
And if it keeps piling up, I believe it turns into immense stress.
In other words... things are about to get complicated—and that makes for a great story!
Please look forward to the TV anime *Seirei Gensouki: Spirit Chronicles* Season 3!
