THE GHOST IN THE SHELL anime details
The newly introduced staff members are Taisei Iwasaki (music director, music composer), Ryō Konishi (music composer), and Yuki Kanesaka (music composer).
It was previously announced that Moko-chan is directing the anime at Science SARU, with Toh Enjo. Shuhei Handa is the character designer and chief animation director of the project. A new key visual illustrated by Handa, depicting the series’ protagonist Motoko Kusanagi was released. This is a homage to the original manga creator Masamune Shirow.
Unfortunately, the cast of the series is yet to be revealed.
Masamune Shirow’s manga was first published from April 1989 to November 1990, in Kodansha’s Young Magazine. The series is set in a futuristic world where people have cyberbrains. Unfortunately, this deep dependence on technology also means the public’s brain is really susceptible to hackers. Set in 2029, the story follows Chief Daisuke Aramaki and Major Mokoto Kusanagi as they try to catch one such hacker who’s been terrorising the citizens. But things soon go wrong.
The manga is a pioneer in the cyberpunk crime-thriller genre. The franchise has a few anime adaptations, movies, and even a live-action film. Fans are excited to see Science SARU’s vision of Ghost in the Shell come to life after their success with DANDADAN.
