The coming-of-age drama also released a new trailer.
The upcoming musical, coming-of-age, Yuri anime “Scenes from Awajima” (Awajima Hyakkei) just revealed its 9 April, 2026 premiere date. A new trailer has been released, which includes a snippet of the show’s ending theme song. Moreover, three new characters and their voice actors have been announced, along with a visual containing them.

The newly announced cast members of the anime includes:
- Kana Ichinose as Sara Takanashi
- Risa Shimizu as Eri Fujisawa
- Asuna Tomari as Shizuka Gagakugawa
The main cast of the anime includes:
- Nina Nakabayashi as Wakana Tabata
- Yo Taichi as Kinue Takahara
- Ai Kayano as Ryōko Ueda
- Natsumi Fujiwara as Emi Okabe
- Ayumi Tsunematsu as Katsurako Ibuki
The new PV features the series’ ending theme song ‘Hikari’ performed by Mika Nakashima.
Morio Asaka directs the anime at Studio Madhouse. Kunihiko Hamada designs the characters while Yasuhiro Nakanishi handles series composition. Takahiro Obata is composing the music for the series.

The anime is based on Takako Shimura’s manga series of the same name. It was serialised in Ohta Publishing's PocoPoco website from 2011 to 2016. Then it was moved to the Ohta Web Comic website, where it ended in March 2024. Yen Press has licensed the manga in English and describes the story as:
Awajima Opera School—where countless girls from across the country flock in hopes of one day standing on the big stage.
