A brand new trailer for the upcoming season has been released.
The retired assassin and his action-packed life is coming back to the screens soon! Sakamoto Days Season 2 was officially announced on the first day of Jump Festa 2026. A short teaser trailer for the anime was also released.
Sakamoto Days Season 2 details
The second season of the Sakamoto Days anime is already under production. The series' new PV shows off some of the intense action scenes from the upcoming season. Unfortunately, the release date and other details haven’t been disclosed yet. A new key visual featuring slim Taro Sakamoto has also been posted on the anime’s social media.
The new season and first look trailer were both revealed during the Sakamoto Days panel at Jump Festa 2026. It was attended by the main voice actors of the series: Tomokazu Sugita (Taro Sakamoto), Nobunaga Shimazaki (Shin Asakura), Daisuke Namikawa (Kei Uzuki/X/ Slur) and Koki Uchiyama (Gaku).
It has been confirmed that Netflix will continue to stream the Sakamoto Days Season 2 globally. Fans are excited about the return of the series as it was one of the most popular anime titles of 2025, and the story only gets better from here.
The anime is based on Yuto Suzuki’s manga of the same name. Viz Media currently publishes the manga in English and describes the story as:
Time has passed peacefully for Sakamoto since he left the underworld. He’s running a neighborhood store with his lovely wife and child and has gotten a bit…out of shape. But one day a figure from his past pays him a visit with an offer he can’t refuse: return to the assassin world or die!
