A new mini-anime titled ‘Yōjo Shenki 2’ has also been announced.
It was revealed on Saturday that the second season of the popular anime “Saga of Tanya the Evil” (Yōjo Senki II) will begin airing on 8 July, 2026. The theme song artists and an accompanying mini-anime have also been revealed.

As per the new announcement poster, the series will debut on 8 July, 2026.
Moreover, an accompanying mini-anime, much like from the first season, has been announced. It’s titled Yōjo Shenki II, and it will air right after the main episodes on AT-X. They will also be available for two weeks on the Kadokawa Anime Channel on YouTube.
Popular band MYTH&ROID are returning from Season 1 to perform the opening theme song ‘Why? RED induction’ for Saga of Tanya the Evil Season 2. Similarly, Tanya’s voice actor Aoi Yūki will continue to sing the ending theme song, ‘Weiter! Weiter!’

Takayuki Yamamoto is the new director for the anime at returning studio NUT. Kenta Ihara returns as the script writer and supervisor while Yuji Hosogoe is returning as the character designer and chief animation director.
What is the story of Saga of Tanya the Evil?
The unconventional anime series is based on a light novel series written by Carlo Zen and illustrated by Shinobu Shinotsuki. It first began publishing on the novel publishing website Arcadia, and was later acquired by Enterbrain, who started releasing it in print format in 2013. A manga adaptation by Chika Tōjō began in April 2016 in Kadokawa Shōten’s Comp Ace magazine.
The first season of the anime aired in 2017. A sequel movie titled. Saga of Tanya the Evil: The Movie came out in 2019. The second season was announced back in 2021. The series is coming back after almost a decade.
Yen Press publishes the novels and manga in English and describes the story as:
