Gountess and the others try to stop him, but Rudo is hell-bent on setting things right.
In the previous chapter of Kei Urana’s Gachiakuta manga, we saw Rudo saying that no matter how hard someone like Mymo tries to become a God, they’ll always remain human. He then vowed to become a similar creature like Mymo’s current form to take him down. In the recent chapter, Gountess, Riyo, and the Adderoy brothers try to stop him, saying it’s hopeless and he might die. But Rudo is determined to use his own Watchman series Vital Instrument and change how Mymo did.

Mildretta finally wakes up and sees that things are still breaking apart all around her and thinks that this is way out of the Cleaners’ jurisdiction. Her companion tells her that Enjin kept them safe after Mildretta was attacked by Mymo and lost consciousness. We then see Enjin still holding the Umbreaker above their heads as he apologises for getting hit in the head even though Mildretta’s aim at Mymo was perfect. He then tells them to get the locals and the attendees out of the town, because if things go south, the whole city will be blown off the map.
Back at the festival ground, Gountess tells Rudo that it’s impossible to turn into the same thing as Mymo. He used Gountess’ part of the Watchman series to give an order directly to his soul to change his physical body. He was only able to do it by combining his own power with Gountess’, but Rudo’s powers can’t give him the same ability. He also says that if Mymo’s goal was to become a God, then there might not be a way to turn back and Rudo can become a monster permanently.
Rudo answers that Mymo is still human because a human can never become a God no matter how hard they try. Riyo thinks that nobody can look at the creature that Mymo has become and say they’re a human. Gountess wonders how Rudo can be so sure and why his whole demeanor changed as soon as he heard the word ‘God’. Rudo says that he thinks Mymo did it the same way when a Giver switches their Vital Instrument into weapon mode. He used his Giver power to reconstruct his body just like how every Giver can change their instrument. Rudo is sure he can do it too. And with Gountess’ power opening a pathway to his soul, Rudo might be able to use his own power on himself and amplify his body.
Riyo warns him that if Rudo’s power runs out midway, he can start to disappear. She thinks this fight to be a lost cause as there’s no humanly possible way to win against Mymo now. But Rudo tells her that if he starts behaving like Mymo and wrecking everything, she must kill him. Gountess yells at him and says he refuses to lose Rudo for his revenge. He says it should be him as his life has no more meaning while Rudo has other things to accomplish.
Rudo yells back that he’s not heading towards his death. Mymo got here by trampling all over, and he’s only going to thoroughly defeat the evil monster.
As Rudo jumps into the pit with Mymo, the villain’s monstrous form looks astonished. Gountess thinks how he forced his own revenge on the young boy and risk his life. But then why can’t he still let go of relying on this boy? Gountess realises that it's not Rudo’s strength nor his sense of justice that makes people rely on him, but his determination to stay true to his rage no matter what. In the final panel, we see that Rudo has transformed into a wolf-faced monster.
Gachiakuta Chapter 157 review
Rudo’s determination to become an even bigger menace than the villains he faces is truly admirable. Even through the rage of what Mymo has done to hundreds of people, he was clearly able to figure out the quickest and most effective way of beating the monstrous body. I understand Gountess and the Cleaners’ worries, but at this point, there is no hope for them other than Rudo. Amo is there with her own Watchman series Vital Instrument, and I can’t wait to see how she helps Rudo in this fight now that he has also morphed into a monstrous being thanks to his vital instrument and Gountess.
