The anime adapts the light novel series by Ryo Ariyama.
The official X (formerly Twitter) account for the fantasy light novel series “Romelia War Chronicle: The Count’s Daughter Rallies an Army in the Wake of Mankind’s Victory” (Romeria Senki: Maō o Taoshita Ato mo Jinrui Yabasō Dakara Guntai Soshiki Shita), has announced a television anime adaptation for the series.
The anime is set to air sometime in 2026, but other details are yet to be disclosed.
What is “Romelia War Chronicle” about?
“Romelia War Chronicle” is written by Ryo Ariyama, and illustrated by Kodama and Ryo Kamito. It first began serialisation through the user-generated publishing website Shosetsuka ni Naro in 2019, before being acquired by Shogakukan in 2020, under their Gagaga Books light novel imprint.
The series currently has five volumes and a side story volume as of September 2024. It will end with its sixth and final volume, although a release date is yet to be revealed.
A manga adaptation, illustrated by Kamito, began serialisation on the Manga Doa app in 2021, and has been collected into five tankobon volumes as of November 2025. Seven Seas Entertainment has licensed the series for an English release, with its first volume set to be made available in January 2026.
The anime is most likely set to be distributed by Pony Canyon Anime, as its official account shared the teaser visual for English-speaking viewers.
The official website describes the story as:
“Count Romelia, I am announcing my engagement to you.”
Immediately after defeating the Demon King, Romelia was informed by Prince Henri that their engagement was broken off. Romelia lost her fiancé and was abandoned by her companions, but she did not give up.
The Demon King's army still thrives in her homeland, and there are people held captive by demons. Romelia, who has lost everything, takes action to save them. She trains new recruits in remote areas and strikes deals with merchants. She gathers the manpower and funds to build up a force to oppose the Demon King's army.
The abandoned young lady now stands up.
