A new trailer for the upcoming second season of “Reincarnated as a Sword” (Tensei Shitara Ken Dashita) revealed the sequel’s 7 October, 2026 release date. In Japan, the anime's first episode will be released early on 30 September on the streaming platform ABEMA. A new key visual and details about the theme songs have also been revealed.

The opening theme song ‘Dream of Butterfly’ is being performed by FZMZ, while the ending theme song ‘Baribari Buddy’ is being performed by Hanabie.
Itsuki Fujioka will launch a spin-off manga titled Tensei Shitara Ken Deshita My Dish in Micro Magazine's Comic Ride service on 30 September.
HIDIVE will stream the anime as it airs, and will also screen the first episode during Anime NYC on 22 August.

What is Reincarnated as a Sword about?
The anime is based on a popular Japanese light novel series by Yuu Tanaka which was launched in October 2015 on the user-generated website Shōsetsuka ni Narō. Micro Magazine later began publishing in a novel format in July 2016 with illustrations by LLO. A manga adaptation by Tomowo Maruyama began serialising in Gentosha’s Denshi Birz magazine in the same year. A spin-off manga by Hinako Inoue was published by Micro Magazine. The first season of the anime came out in 2022. HIDIVE streamed it with an English dub.
Seven Seas Entertainment publishes both the light novel and the manga in English and describes the story as:
