Netflix has announced a new live-action series based on Hitoshi Iwaaki's Parasyte manga, titled Parasyte: Tamiya, which will stream worldwide exclusively on Netflix in 2027.
The upcoming series will focus on Ryoko Tamiya, a key character from the original manga, and explore the Parasyte story from her perspective.

Who is in the cast and staff of “Parasyte: Tamiya”?
Shioli Kutsuna will star as Ryoko Tamiya. No other cast members have been revealed.
Kutsuna is best known for her role as Ran Mori in Shinichi Kudo's Written Challenge, Minami Maho in Beck, as well as her roles in Deadpool 2 and Deadpool & Wolverine.
Parasyte: Tamiya is developed by Yeon Sang-ho, with Kensaku Kakimoto and Kazuhiro Nakagawa directing the series. Yeon Sang-ho and Ryu Yong-jae are handling the screenplay, while Yoomin Hailey Yang serves as executive producer.
WOWPOINT is developing and producing the series, with EPISCOPE, INC. serving as the production company. Netflix is streaming the upcoming live-action series.
What is “Parasyte” about?
Parasyte is a sci-fi horror manga by Hitoshi Iwaaki that follows high school student Shinichi Izumi after parasitic creatures arrive on Earth and begin taking over human bodies.
Iwaaki serialized the original manga in Kodansha's Afternoon magazine from 1990 to 1995. The series has since inspired a television anime adaptation in 2014, as well as two live-action films released in 2014 and 2015.
The franchise also received a South Korean live-action adaptation titled Parasyte: The Grey, which premiered worldwide on Netflix in April 2024.
