The legendary anime went on hiatus in January 2026.
The “One Piece” anime entered a three-month hiatus ahead of its next arc in January. Crunchyroll has now confirmed that the popular long-running anime is returning to the platform on 5 April, 2026. The series will return with the manga’s Elbaph Arc, where Luffy and his crew venture into the island of the giants.
One Piece Elbaph arc details
The official X (formerly Twitter) account of the English version of One Piece anime confirmed that the series is returning on 5 April, 2026 with the Elbaph Arc. It has also been confirmed that the last batch of English dubs for the previous Egghead Arc will begin streaming sometime in March. Unfortunately, the release date for that hasn’t been confirmed.
The Elbaph Arc is the currently running arc of Eiichiro Oda’s manga. Fans are eager to see their favourite moments from the land of the giants animated. Moreover, popular voice actor Kenjiro Tsuda is joining the cast of One Piece as Shamrock in this arc. Being Shanks’ twin brother and one of the main villains of the arc, Shamrock has created quite a buzz amidst the fans.
But the main anime is not all that One Piece fans have to look forward to! It has been confirmed that the spin-off series titled ONE PIECE HEROINES will premiere with its Nami episode on 5 July, 2026. The spin-off will centre around the various badass women of One Piece and their life stories.
Moreover, the long-awaited second season of the One Piece live-action series is also set to premiere on Netflix on 10 March, 2026. It seems that OP fans have a lot to look forward to!
The One Piece anime is based on Eiichiro Oda’s manga series which began back in 1997, and has 113 tankōbon volumes as of November 2025. Viz Media publishes the manga in English and describes the story as:
