Monster Strike: Mera×Death: Shinigami to Boku no Ijou na Koi will premiere in January 2027.
Mixi has announced a new television anime adaptation of its Monster Strike smartphone RPG, titled Monster Strike: Mera×Death: Shinigami to Boku no Ijou na Koi, also known as Mera×Death: The Unusual Love Between Me and the Grim Reaper.
The anime is scheduled to premiere on Tokyo MX and other stations on 5 January, 2027. The official website also revealed the production staff, a key visual, and the first promotional video. Streaming details are yet to be announced.

What is Monster Strike?
Developed by Mixi, Monster Strike was originally released in Japan for iOS in September 2013 under the XFLAG brand, followed by its Android release in December of the same year.
The game received a North American release in October 2014, although the version was discontinued in August 2017. The game has since surpassed 55 million downloads worldwide.
The franchise's has received a number of anime and film adaptations since its release. The official website describes the story as:
Six years ago, a massive explosion occurred in the town of Ouma, but miraculously, there were no fatalities.
In this city where a mysterious sphere called "Glass Sun" floats in the sky, a boy named Mera Kagari, who feels out of place and lives a boring life, meets a mysterious girl named Thirteen on his 16th birthday.
Her encounter with her brings vibrant colors to Mera's previously monochrome life, but at the same time, strange occurrences begin to unfold in the city.
