The new Magic Knight Rayearth anime will run for two consecutive cours beginning this October.
The upcoming Magic Knight Rayearth TV anime has revealed four additional cast members, its theme songs, and a second promotional video. The new anime will premiere on 7 October at 11:45 p.m. on TV Asahi's IMAnimation W programming block. It will run for two consecutive cours. Crunchyroll will stream the series as it airs.
The second promotional video previews the newly announced cast alongside the opening and ending themes.

Singer-songwriter Toaka, who previously performed for Suzume, is performing the opening theme “Otome no Tsurugi.” Yurina Kawaguchi performs the ending theme “Hoshiakari.”

What is Magic Knight Rayearth about?
The original Magic Knight Rayearth was created by the popular manga group CLAMP, and appeared as a series in the Japanese Magazine Nakayoshi from November 1993 to February 1995. Kodansha would later collect the chapters into three tankobon volumes, which were released from July 1994 to March 1995. A sequel series soon followed from March 1995 to April 1996.
Kodansha publishes the Magic Knight Rayearth manga series in English, and describes the story as:
While on a field trip to Tokyo Tower, three teenage girls cross a magical portal and are transported to another world called Cefiro. There they are summoned through the last remaining strength of the Princess Emeraude, who believes the trio will become the magic knights who will save her, as prophesied by legend.
