What do we know about Dr. Stone: Terraforming?
Dr. Stone: Terraforming adapts the 51-paged one-shot included in Volume 27. The story follows Senku, as he resolves to advance civilisation through exploration of alien worlds.
Besides the confirmation of its production, no other details, like cast, staff, and premiere window is yet to be announced.
The Dr. Stone anime adapts Riichiro Inagaki and Boichi’s post-apocalyptic science fiction adventure manga. The first season premiered with 24 episodes in Summer 2019, followed by the 11-episode second season, Stone Wars, in Winter 2021.
The third season, New World, aired in two parts in Spring and Fall 2023. The fourth and final season, Science Future, ran across three split cours from January 2025 to 25 June, 2026.
Crunchyroll streamed the anime series with English subtitles and dubs worldwide, excluding Asia, and describes the story as:
Modern society is lost when a mysterious light turns humanity to stone. Thousands of years pass and high schoolers Senku and Taiju awaken in an overgrown version of the world they once knew. With Senku as the brains and Taiju as the brawn, they’re determined to revive the petrified masses and rebuild civilization—but of those they’ve rescued, Tsukasa will rock their plans.
Riichiro Inagaki and Boichi serialised Dr. Stone in Weekly Shonen Jump from March 2017 to March 2022. Shueisha published the 27th volume in April 2024, which includes the Terraforming one-shot.
The series also received a nine-chapter side story titled Dr. Stone Reboot: Byakuya, which ran in the same magazine from October to December 2019. VIZ Media licensed the manga in English, while Shueisha also publishes the original manga and side story digitally in English through Manga Plus.
