The new anime celebrates the 20th anniversary of the Code Geass franchise.
A teaser trailer video has been revealed for the upcoming “Code Geass: Star Chase Aspel” anime, which revealed its 2027 premiere window. A new official website and X account have also been opened for the project.

What do we know about the Code Geass: Star Chaser Aspel anime so far?
The Code Geass: Star Chase Aspel anime is coming out in 2027. The new project was first announced in December 2025 to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the Code Geass anime.
Kazuya Nomura, who directed the Run with the Wind and Moriarty the Patriot series, is directing the new anime at Sunrise. Mado Nozaki writes the scripts while Rolua designs the characters and Yoshi. designs the Agarmatha. Junbun Lin is handling the background and special effects, with Ichinogi designing the title logo.
Other details about the series, such as its cast or connection to the original anime, haven’t been revealed as of yet.
The original Code Geass: Lelouch of the Rebellion anime by Sunrise came out in 2006. It was directed by Gorō Taniguchi and written by Ichirō Ōkouchi, while Clamp designed the original characters.
