In a new update, the official X (formerly Twitter) account of Netflix Anime revealed that the “That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime The Movie: Tears of the Azure Sea” will begin streaming on Netflix. The anime film will arrive on the platform on 21 September, 2026 in select regions of Asia. The movie originally premiered on 27 February, 2026.

After concluding the opening ceremony of the Demon Kingdom Federation Tempest, Rimuru and his companions are invited by the Celestial Emperor Elmesia of the great elven nation–the Sorcerous Dynasty of Thalion–to visit her private resort island. As the group enjoys their brief vacation, a mysterious woman named Yura appears. A new incident unfolds against the backdrop of the boundless azure sea.
The original cast of the series returned for the film. The new voice actors who joined the cast for the movie include:

- Koji Yusa as Djeese
- Nao Kosaka as Mio
- Kaho Fujishima as Yori
Studio 8-Bit animated the movie with Yasuhito Kikuchi as the director. The anime series and movies are based on Fuse’s light novel series of the same name.
