Netflix has confirmed that it will stream the upcoming comedy anime Chainsmoker Cat weekly when it begins airing this Summer. The series is set to premiere this 2 July.
It has also been revealed that Netflix Japan will carry a special uncut version of the anime titled the "Evil Dragon Liberation Version," which is described as a release that preserves the original directorial intent of the series. It is likely that the global version of Netflix may stream the uncut version as well. A new trailer was also released alongside the announcement.
The original manga the anime is adapting is widely known for its toilet humour and gross-out comedy. The uncut version may likely show these scenes uncensored.

What is Chainsmoker Cat about?
The anime is based on Nyan Nyan Factory’s manga series, which began publishing in February 2023 in Kodansha’s Weekly Young Magazine. Seven Seas Entertainment publishes the manga in English, and describes the story as:

Welcome to Yani’s apartment. Please don’t mind the smell. Yani is a catgirl with a seriously bad smoking habit. Every time she tries to quit, she becomes weak to the cravings and gives in almost instantly.
