A new English language trailer has been released for Netflix’s upcoming anime movie “THE RIBBON HERO”. Twin Engine has released the original Japanese version of what has been touted ‘the final trailer’ of the film. Additionally, five new cast members have been introduced.
THE RIBBON HERO will premiere exclusively on Netflix on 8 August, 2026.

The five new cast members of the anime are:
- Yoshimasa Hosoya as Rock
- Mito Tsukino (NIJISANJI VTuber) as Hecate
- Yuusuke Tezuka as Chorogy
- Lunlun (NIJISANJI VTuber) as Chick
- Debidebi Debiru (NIJISANJI VTuber) as Tack
Previously announced cast members of the anime include:
- Saya (from the comedy duo Lalande) as Sapphire
- Seiran Kobayashi as Pine
- Koki Uchiyama as Velvet
- Mayumi Shintani as Zirco
- Haruhiko Jō as Pope
As per Netflix, this is Saya’s first leading role in a feature-length animated movie.

Inspired by Osamu Tezuka's legendary 1953 manga Princess Knight, THE RIBBON HERO tells a brand-new modernised story centred on Sapphire.
As per Netflix, The Ribbon Hero “depicts the story of a lone hero who chooses to defy a harsh destiny, set in a delicately crafted world. The film is directed by the lauded animator Yuki Igarashi in his first-ever feature-length film.”
