A new teaser video has also been released.
The upcoming anime series Neko to Ryuu (The Cat and the Dragon) has released a brand new trailer. The series will air in July 2026. Ahead of the release, the official website and social media accounts of the anime revealed the main character’s voice actor, as well as the chief staff working on the series.
Neko to Ryuu anime cast, staff, and other details
The main protagonist Nekoryuu will be voiced by Takehito Koyasu (Dio Brando in JoJo’s Bizarre Adventures, Zeke Jaegar in Attack on Titan). No other cast details have been announced so far.
Jin Gu-Oh directs the fantasy anime at studio OLM. Mitsutaka Hirota handles series composition, while Chiaki Kurakazu and Rie Nishino design the characters. Takahiro Obata is composing the music with Noriyoshi Konuma as the sound director.
The anime is based on a fantasy light novel series written by Amara and illustrated by Mai Ōkuma. It was first posted by the author as a series of stories on the Shōsetsuka ni Narō website from 2013 to 2014, before being published as a novel by Takarajimasha in 2016. A manga adaptation by Izumi Sasaki began in 2017.
The story takes place in a fantasy world, where a dragon has been raised by a cat mother among cat siblings. Despite being a dragon, he often behaves like a cat and thus his weirdly wonderful adventures in this magical land begins.
