The adorable Miyo and the stoic Kudō are coming back with some seasonal love.
The fan favourite romance anime My Happy Marriage, based on Akumi Agitogi light-novel series, is coming back with a special surprise for the fans. The official website of the anime announced that a three-episode special project will drop in 2026, and stream on Netflix. A brand new key visual for the same has also been released.
My Happy Marriage special 2026 project details
The new illustration for the upcoming three-episode project features the protagonist Miyo Saimori (Reina Ueda) and Kiyoka Kudō (Kaito Ishikawa). The voice actors are reprising their roles for the project. From the look of the flower-clad illustration, it will be a romantic and adorable short project featuring the beloved couple. It seems that something more will happen if the two’s ceremonial attire is anything to go by.
Takehiro Kubota is returning to direct the special edition at Kinema Citrus. The comments from Kubota, Reina Ueda, and Kaito Ishikawa have been revealed, and through a machine translation reads:

“Thanks to all the fans who have supported My Happy Marriage, we are able to produce these three-episode special episodes following the second season. I hope everyone will warmly watch over the happy couple as they appear together in the beautiful new artwork. May the two of them remain lovingly united for many years to come.”
Reina Ueda:
“I was overjoyed when I heard about the new anime project because I’ve always hoped to see how Miyo—who has learned to accept both being loved and loving someone in return—would continue her life with her husband. Reading the script, I found myself smiling at how cute Miyo and Kiyoka’s relationship was. At the same time, I was reminded of how My Happy Marriage beautifully blends both gentle and bittersweet aspects of the story. I will give my best to bring out the charm of these special episodes, and I hope everyone will look forward to the finished project.”
Kaito Ishikawa:

The novel’s author Akumi Agitogi has also released a comment, which says:
“Thanks to everyone, we will be able to see Miyo and Kiyotaka's ‘happy marriage’ in another anime project, and I am filled with gratitude to all the staff involved and all the fans who support us. I'm sure it will be a wonderful wedding, so I hope many people will attend!”
The anime is based on the light novel series written by Agitogi and illustrated by Tsukiho Tsukioka. It also has a manga adaptation by Rito Kohsaka. The first season of the anime aired in July 2023, with the second airing in April 2025. Yen Press publishes the novel series in English and describes the story as:
