The group date isn’t going as they planned.
The recent chapter of the Dandadan manga focused solely on Momo, Okarun, Jiji, Aira, Vamola, and Kinta, who are at a theme park on a group date. Okarun feels bad when Momo and Jiji buddy up over shared memories, and Momo feels gloomy when she sees Aira get close to Okarun. However, the story gets more interesting when Kinta and Vamola meet a really weird man who seems hell-bent on cutting Kinta’s hair.

Dandadan Chapter 229 recap
The chapter begins with all six of them entering the theme park. Jiji and Momo head into a store where they sell Penny Candy. The two get nostalgic over all the candies from their childhood, and Okarun stares at them. Suddenly, Aira calls him and starts talking to him about dinosaurs. Okarun says that although it has been proven that dinosaurs could probably not stand upright due to how heavy their heads were, he likes the ‘Godzilla’ model because of how iconic it is.
When Momo sees Okarun and Aira get buddy-buddy she starts feeling gloomy. She doesn’t understand why she feels this way because she has no feelings for Okarun. But jealousy drives her over the edge and she grabs Jiji’s arm to pull him towards the aquarium where they’re having a tour. Okarun stares at them with a sad look on his face. But Aira pulls on his arm and asks if he wants to go to the dinosaur exhibition.
Outside, we see Vamola and Kinta standing together. A weird man with a spiral hairdo approaches them. He calls Kinta strange and says his hairstyle is really weird. Vamola says that the man is the one with the strange hair and she and Kinta walk away. But the man keeps following them and says he really wants to cut Kinta’s hair. Annoyed, Kinta yells at him and the two get into a row. But in the end, he gives up and agrees to let the man style his hair. They go to a salon and Kinta sits in the customer’s chair. He says he will allow the man to cut his hair, but if he makes it weird, he will take him to court.
Vamola, who is excited with the turn of events, asks if the man could cut her hair as well. But the man says he has no particular desire to cut her hair and tells her to wait outside. Saddened, Vamola stands outside even though Kinta yells at the man to apologise to her. Suddenly, she spots a store that’s selling Takoyaki and heads over there. Back at the salon, the man takes up a pair of scissors and looks at Kinta ominously. The two of them stare at each other in the mirror for a while, and the man apologises for the sudden staring contest. Kinta asks him if he thinks this is a joke as he’s missing out on valuable time with Vamola for this haircut.

The recent issue very much felt like a buildup for something big. It’s very evident that Kinta is likely going to be the next target for the villains, if the man with the weird hairstyle is anything to go by. It could also mean that the bad guys are trying to separate them and take them out one by one. This means we will likely meet some more villains in the upcoming chapters.
