Back in November 2021, it was announced that Monsho Sakakibara’s light novel series “Majutsu wo Kiwamete Tabi ni Deta Tensei Elf, Moteamashita Jumyo de Ikeru Densetsu to Naru” (The Reincarnated Elf Left on a Journey to Master His Magic and With His Extra Lifespan Became a Living Legend) is getting an anime adaptation. In a new update, it was revealed that the series will premiere in January 2027. The first two minutes of the anime’s first episode has also been released as a preview.

What is Majutsu wo Kiwamete Tabi ni Deta Tensei Elf about?
Monsho Sakakibara launched the series as a webnovel on the Kakuyomu online service in July 2021. In December 2022, it began publishing as a light novel under Starts Publishing's Grast Novels imprint, with illustrations by Hatori Kyoka. A manga adaptation by Kanco has also been serialised in Comic Grast online magazine since May 2023.
The story of the novel follows a modern-man who dies in an unfortunate accident. He is reincarnated in a fantasy world as an elf, a species who live up to a thousand years. Instead of wasting his new life as he did the previous one, the man sets out on a journey to become a “living legend”.
