The upcoming reboot of Magic Knight Rayearth has revealed additional cast members and staff ahead of its premiere on 7 October, 2026.
The remake was initially announced in 2024 during the 30th anniversary celebration of the original anime adaptation, which aired in 1994 and lasted 49 episodes. This latest update was announced through the anime's world premiere panel at Anime Expo 2026, which concluded last Sunday.

Who is in the staff of “Magic Knight Rayearth”?
Yui Umemoto is directing the anime at E&H Production, with Shigeru Murakoshi handling series composition. Satomi Watanabe serves as character designer and chief animation director, while Yuki Kajiura, Takumi Ozawa, and Shiho Terada compose the music.
What is Magic Knight Rayearth about?
The original Magic Knight Rayearth was created by the popular manga group CLAMP, and appeared as a series in the Japanese Magazine Nakayoshi from November 1993 to February 1995. Kodansha would later collect the chapters into three tankobon volumes, which were released from July 1994 to March 1995. A sequel series soon followed from March 1995 to April 1996.
Kodansha publishes the Magic Knight Rayearth manga series in English, and describes the story as:
While on a field trip to Tokyo Tower, three teenage girls cross a magical portal and are transported to another world called Cefiro. There they are summoned through the last remaining strength of the Princess Emeraude, who believes the trio will become the magic knights who will save her, as prophesied by legend.
