“Love Through a Prism” anime gets novel adaptation on 4 December

The anime debuted on Netflix on 15 January, 2026.

At the beginning of this year, a gorgeous coming-of-age anime titled “Love Through a Prism”, created by Boys Over Flowers mangaka Yōko Kamio, debuted on Netflix. It has been revealed that the beloved series is getting a two-volume novel adaptation at the end of this year. Both volumes of the novel will be shipped on 4 December, 2026.

What do we know about the “Love Through a Prism” novels so far?

Publishing company Shueisha’s Jump J Books imprint is publishing the two volumes of the Love Through a Prism novel, which are both set to be released on 4 December, 2026. The newly drawn cover arts of the books have been revealed. 

The first volume is titled Prism Rondo: London no Sora ga Aokatta Hi (Love Through a Prism: The Day London's Sky Was Blue), while the second volume is titled Prism Rondo: Unmei wa Canvas no Mukо̄ ni (Love Through a Prism: Destiny is Beyond the Canvas).

The anime also received a manga adaptation by Maki Minami, which launched on Shueisha’s Shonen Jump+ website on 8 January, 2026. 

The anime debuted on Netflix on 15 January, 2026. 

Love Through a Prism is an original anime by Boys Over Flowers author Yoko Kamio, who was responsible for the story and character designs of the series. Kazuto Nakazawa directed the anime at WIT STUDIO. Other production team members were:

Lili Ichijoin is a Japanese exchange student who travels to England to enroll in the prestigious Saint Thomas Art Academy. Determined to become a painter, she arrives under pressure: her parents expect her to rise to the top of her class within six months or return home.

Lili’s drive intensifies when she encounters Kit Church, a gifted aristocratic student known for his talent and detachment. While Kit has devoted himself entirely to painting, Lili’s sincerity and resilience begin to shift something in him. The two share little beyond their love for art, yet their relationship quickly becomes central to life at the academy over the 20 episodes.
