The official English title, revealed in the logo of the film, will be “To You in the Beyond”.

"Doko Yori mo Tooi Basho ni Iru Kimi e" details

Unfortunately, other than the confirmation of its anime film adaptation, no other details have been revealed.

Abe’s original novel was released by Shueisha in October 2017, featuring illustrations by syo5. The light novel is comprised of only a single volume, and is yet to receive an English release.

A manga adaptation by Haruka Chino launched on Shueisha’s Tonari no Young Jump website in August 2025. Shueisha will publish the manga’s first compiled volume on 19 February.

Shueisha describes the story as such:

Tsukigase Kazuki, who harbors a secret, enrolls in Agishima High School on a remote island, seeking an environment where he knows no one.

Agishima is home to a place known as the "Spirited Away Cove," and at the beginning of summer, Kazuki discovers a girl collapsed in the cove. When she regains consciousness in the hospital, she is named Nanao, 16 years old, and her identity is unknown. What does the word "1974" mean when Nanao mutters it in the cove? A touching story of boy meets girl!
