The beloved high-school slice-of-life romcom manga “Komi Can’t Communicate” is coming back with a special chapter tomorrow on 17 June. Author Tomohito Oda has created the new chapter to celebrate the 10th anniversary of the manga’s first serialisation in 2016. The new update will depict Komi, Tadano, and their friends’ university lives.

When is the Komi Can’t Communicate Special Chapter coming?
As per the official X (formerly Twitter) account of Komi Can’t Communicate, the new chapter will be released on 17 June, 2026 in Shogakukan’s Weekly Shōnen Sunday magazine. Unfortunately, we don’t yet know if it will get an official English translation anytime soon.
Moreover, to celebrate the 10th anniversary of the beloved manga, the official website of the magazine is also releasing volumes for free weekly for fans to read. The fourth and final installment of the offer has released volumes 28-37 for free.
The manga’s creator Tomohito Oda has also written a post saying he has created the new chapter!
What is Komi Can’t Communicate about?
Tomohito Oda’s manga series Komi Can’t Communicate began serialising in Shogakukan’s Weekly Shōnen Sunday magazine in 2016, and ended in 2025. The 37th and final volume of the series was released in March 2025. In 2021, an anime adaptation by OLM was released, and took the internet by storm. It was followed by a second season in 2022. The anime is currently available to watch worldwide on Netflix.
