Daisuke Itabashi’s The Journey of a Dark Elf with Fading Powers is the first one to be released.
In July of this year, Kodansha announced that they will release a special US edition of their Young Magazine to celebrate the 45th anniversary of the magazine. The magazine came out in August and was distributed for free amongst the Anime NYC attendees.
It also included 19 new manga series chapters from various Japanese artists, 16 out of which were open to be voted for by the readers. The results of the poll is in, and the top 5 winners will be serialised in both Japanese and English on the K MANGA platform and app.

Second Place: Rin Shimokawa’s Godmother
Third Place: Ray Kindo’s The Knight of Blasphemy
Fourth Place: Daisuke Itabashi’s The Journey of a Dark Elf with Fading Powers
Fifth Place: OUGA’s Fascination
These five titles are guaranteed a serialisation on the K MANGA platform. They will also be released in Japan in the Monthly Young Magazine and/or YanMaga Web.
It has been announced that one of the titles, Daisuke Itabashi’s The Journey of a Dark Elf with Fading Powers, will begin serialisation on 20 December, 2025. A message from the author along with a celebratory illustration has also been revealed. You can read the messages from the other winners on the official website.
The contest received a final count of 281,461 votes. Following the overwhelming response, the Young Magazine US staff has announced that they will commence with the 2nd Yanmanga US project soon. The staff will also choose four additional titles from the original 16 that left an impact and announce the name on the official X (formerly Twitter) account at a later date. All 19 of the titles and their initial chapters are available to read on the official website of Young Magazine US.
