The thrilling journey of Kafka Hibino is coming to an end.
The popular monster anime Kaiju No. 8 announced its final arc on the first day of Jump Festa 2026. The upcoming third season, named the ‘Final Chapter’ will likely conclude the anime adaptation of Naoya Matsumoto’s manga, which ended in July 2025. The second season of the anime ended in September 2025.
Alongside the third season, a short anime series titled ‘Narumi’s Ordinary Days’ or ‘Narumi’s Week at Work’ was also announced. This series follows the JAKDF First Division Captain Gen Narumi.
Kaiju No. 8 Final Chapter details
A teaser trailer for the Final Chapter has been announced, showing Kafka, Mina, and other Kaiju Defense Force members as they prepare to battle the evolved Kaiju No. 9. The announcement was made during the Jump Festa stage, which was attended by the series’ main voice actors including Masaya Fukunishi (Kafka Hibino), Wataru Kato (Reno Ichikawa), Kengo Kawanishi (Soshiro Hoshina), and Koki Uchiyama (Gen Narumi).
Unfortunately, no other details about the upcoming season, like its release date or production staff, were announced.
Fans can also look forward to the ‘Narumi’s Week at Work’ short anime series focusing on the beloved Gen Narumi. This series was announced to celebrate Narumi’s birthday, which is on 28 December.
The Kaiju No. 8 anime is based on Naoya Matsumoto’s popular manga series of the same name. Viz Media published the manga in English, and describes the story as:
