A newly-opened official website and X (formerly Twitter) account have announced that Ryon’s manga Jirai Nandesu ka? Chihara-san? is getting an anime adaptation. The main cast of the anime consists of:
- Sayumi Suzuhiro as Mai Chihara
- Kazuki Ura as Kuroki
Both of the voice actors are reprising their roles from the manga’s voice comic and promo video.
Yasuaki Fujii directs the anime Synergy SP. Keichiro Ōchi is handling the series scripts, while Majiro designs the characters. Arisa Okehazama composes the music at King Records.
The manga's author Ryon has also illustrated a new visual of Chihara to celebrate the anime adaptation.
The story of the series follows a plain boy named Kuroki, who ends up sitting beside Mai at the start of the second year in high school. Mai Chihara is rumoured to be the dangerous ‘landmine’ or ‘jirai’ type girl, with her pale skin, red lips, red rimmed eyes, and somber expression. However, as the days pass, Kuroki realises that Chihara is actually very different from the rumours. His image of her changes as he finds out that Chihara is airheaded, clumsy, and loves gyoza and cats. An adorable unlikely friendship ensues.
