Leyden runs up to Japan’s goalpost with the ball.
In the first half of Blue Lock manga chapter 340, we saw that Japan is devising a new attack pattern involving Karasu, Hiori, Rin, Isagi, and finally Barou. But in the new chapter, we see Barou’s offense fails as Hugo instantly understands their plan and intercepts. France then cooks up their own counterattack in a blink, and with Loki and Charles being defended, Hugo passes the ball to Leyden. The powerful player rushes to Japan’s goalpost, but there’s someone to stop him.

What happened in Blue Lock Chapter 340.2?

The chapter begins with Barou saying that Isagi made a dribbling path for him, and he will devour it in one shot. But things are easier said than done, because despite his impressive footwork, he is stopped by Hugo, who wipes the ball away from under his feet. The French genius asks if Blue Lock is trying to throw France off balance with a Karasu-centred frontal offense with Isagi and some collaborators coming up from behind. He applauds the attack power.
Hugo then says he wants to give it a try too, and turns around. Reo warns everyone that it’s a forward pass counter and asks his teammates to keep an eye on Loki and Charles, who are running up ahead. But Hugo makes a clean and straight pass to another French player Leyden, and Reo can’t stop it. Karasu and Isagi realise that France is working up the sides instead and Leyden asks if Japan thought Loki was their only striker.

As Leyden runs up towards their goal post at full speed, Isagi realises that Leyden is racing up the sides because most Blue Lock players are clustered around the centre to stop Loki and Charles. Anri can’t believe that France instantly came up with a counter to their new strategy and switched to a laser-focused attack pattern. Hugo says that if Blue Lock wants hyper offense, France will go on the hyper offense too, something Ego also realises.
Leyden seems to be unstoppably powerful. French coach Rodin tells his players to impale the opponents. Just as Aryu tries to stop him, Leyden makes a beautiful shot, and Gagamaru instinctively moves to block it. But he realises too late that it was a pass to Loki, who is jumping up high for a header into the goalpost. But Gagamaru can’t move so quickly and thinks it’s too late. However, just as Loki tries to headbutt the ball, Kunigami jumps up and heads it away. He tells Loki to count him in if they want a brawl.
What to expect from Blue Lock Chapter 341?

Kunigami is back! I have missed him a lot, and can’t wait to see more of his aggressive plays in this match. I don’t think Blue Lock has any chance of surviving against France if they don’t involve their most aggressive players more intently. Kunigami stopped France’s goal, but now what? How does Blue Lock prepare another new attack when their last one was so viciously torn apart by Hugo? I think Shidou will come into play next, as he is highkey the most unpredictable player in Blue Lock. But I don’t think Blue Lock will successfully score another goal with how well-developed the French team is.
