Yes, the IShowSpeed anime is really happening.
Widely popular streamer and content creator IShowSpeed is officially getting the anime treatment. This week, Variety reported that an anime starring IShowSpeed himself has gone into production at Big Shot Pictures, in collaboration with Netflix’s former One Piece co-showrunner Matt Owens.
Owens had worked on One Piece for its first two seasons, before stepping away from the show for Season 3.

What is the IShowSpeed anime?
Plot details regarding the upcoming IShowSpeed anime series are unknown, as the show has only recently entered development at Big Shot Pictures. The animation studio is headed by former Paramount co-CEO Brian Robbins, and is described as a “start-up.” The series will star IShowSpeed as an animated version of himself.
The series will also be written by Matt Owens, who acted as the showrunner of Netflix’s live-action adaptation of One Piece for its first two seasons. Owens stepped away before Season 2 aired, and will now produce the IShowSpeed anime alongside Robbins. Harmony Korine (Spring Breakers) will also produce the series.
IShowSpeed provided a statement to Variety, confirming that the series is inspired by anime, despite having no Japanese animation studio or talent attached:
“I’ve always loved anime, so being able to create something like this is a dream come true for me. The team behind this project is incredibly talented, and I can’t wait for my fans around the world to see what we’re building together.”
Robbins added:
“Speed is a one-of-a-kind creative force whose ability to connect with audiences transcends borders and platforms. As a performer, he’s built a truly global fanbase, and we’re excited to help bring his voice and vision to life in a completely new way through this series.”
