The first trailer of the anime has been released.
The upcoming yuri (girls love) anime “I Want to Love You Till Your Dying Day” has unleashed the darkness with its first trailer. It gives the audience a look into the dreadful and gruesome nature of the series. Additionally, new production staff members for the show have also been revealed. The anime is set to premiere in July 2026.

Yasushi Tomoda is now the director of the series at studio ROLL2Kod. Takudai Kakuchi, who was previously listed as the director, is now mentioned as the creative advisor for the project. Kyoto Yufu is designing the characters, while Jukki Hanada handles series composition. Tomoda’s previous role as the assistant director has now been taken by Nao Enomoto.

The anime is based on a manga series written and illustrated by Aono Nachi. It was serialized in Ichijinsha's Comic Yuri Hime magazine from August 2018 to December 2019. After that, it was moved to a digital serialisation on both PixivYurihime and Ichijin Plus websites. Kodansha USA publishes the manga in English in the US and describes the story as:
Death lurks behind a mysterious orphanage where children train to become magical weapons of war. Among them is Sheena, who longs to stop the fighting and end the conflict. On one gruesome night, Sheena meets a strange girl covered in blood, with a smile on her face. The mysterious girl turns out to be a secret weapon—an immortal child soldier named Mimi.
