Parasyte -the maxim- creator Hitoshi Iwaaki’s historical epic manga HISTORIE is getting an anime adaptation soon. The series was announced on 1 January, 2026 with a teaser trailer and key visual. Unfortunately, the release date hasn’t been revealed as of yet.

A message and illustration from the manga creator Hitoshi Iwaaki has been published, He commented on how the story’s vision came to him almost 40 years ago, and how it was put to paper over 20 years ago. Now he thanks everyone who is working to bring it to life on the screen.
The HISTORIE manga by Hitoshi Iwaaki began publishing in Kodansha's seinen magazine Monthly Afternoon on 25 January, 2003. The 12th and latest volume of the manga came out on 21 June 2024. It has over 4.7 million copies in circulation so far.
The manga won the Grand Prize at the Tezuka Osamu Cultural Award in 2016 and the Grand Prize In the Manga Division of the 14th Japan Media Arts Festival in 2010. Most recently, the historical epic manga has won the 49th Kodansha Manga Award in the general category in 2025. Set in mid 4th-century Greece, the series is a fictionalised account of the life of Eumenes, a general of Alexander the Great
