Comic-Con International has announced all the nominees for the 2026 Will Eisner Comic Industry Awards. Multiple manga series and one-shots have made it to the nominations across various categories. The deadline for voting is 5 June, 2026. The winners will be presented with the trophies on 24 July, 2026 at San Diego Hilton Bayfront Hotel during Comic-Con.
Which manga works have been nominated for the Eisner Awards this year?

The manga series which were nominated in the Best U.S. Edition of International Material—Asia category are:
- Hirayasumi by Keigo Shinzō, translated by Jan Mitsuko Cash (Shogakukan)
- Tokyo Alien Bros. by Keigo Shinzō, translated by Casey Loe (Shogakukan)
- Land by Kazumi Yamashita, translated by Kevin Gifford (Kodansha)

Kazumi Yamashita has also been nominated in the Best Writer/Artist category for the first volume of the Land manga.
Shintaro Kago’s Blood Harvest and The Cursed Room short manga, available in the Brain Damage collection, have been nominated for the Best Short Story Category.
The My Life in 24 Frames per Second autobiographical manga by anime director Rintarō has been nominated for the Best Graphic Memoir category.
Kodansha USA’ hardcover version of volumes 1-5 of Katsuhiro Ōtomo's Akira manga has been nominated for Best Archival/Collection Project.
Viz Media’s release of hakei’s DeadAss manga is in the running to win the Best Digital Comic category.
Manga's First Century: How Creators and Fans Made Japanese Comics by Andrea Horbinski has been nominated for the Best Academic/Scholarly work, while The Art of Manga (designed by Tessa Lee) and Fruits Basket: The Complete Box Set (Collector's Edition #13, designed by Wendy Chan) have been nominated for the Best Publication Design award.
Manga creator Gō Nagai (Devilman, Cutie Honey) will be inducted for the Will Eisner Comic Awards Hall of Fame in 2026. Last year, this honour went to acclaimed horror manga creator Junji Itō.
Last year, Taiyo Matsumoto’s manga Tokyo These Days won the award in the Best U.S. Edition of International Material–Asia category.
