The news of the anime adaptation was announced to celebrate the original novel series surpassing one million copies in circulation. The cast and staff of the anime remains unknown.
The upcoming series is based on Eiko Mutsuhana’ web novel series which was serialised in the user generated publication platform Shōsetsuka ni Narō from April 2019 to March 2020. Later, Futabasha published it as a light novel under its M Novels f imprint with illustrations by Vient. A manga adaptation by Kamada began in August 2020. Kamada has illustrated a visual of the two main characters to commemorate one million copies sold, and the anime adaptation!
Yen Press publishes the novels under the name “Hi, I'm a Witch, and My Crush Wants Me to Make a Love Potion”, and describes the story as:
“Make me a love potion.”
And with that single sentence, the Good Witch of the Lake’s secret crush on the dashing Sir Harij ends in heartbreak. Still, when he promises to help her gather the ingredients, Rose is thrilled at the chance to gaze upon a man she’d normally never get to interact with. She learns to brace her pounding heart for their usual stilted conversations…but what is she to do when he inexplicably shows up at her doorstep with bread and a jar of apple butter?
