Grand Blue Dreaming Season 3 new cast, staff, and other details

The three new voice actors joining the anime are:

  • Sayaka Ohara as Sayaka Kotegawa

Cast comment (machine translated):

I'm Sayaka Ohara, and I'll be playing the role of Sayaka Kotegawa. Since we have the same name, I felt a sense of familiarity when I went to the set. As this is the third season, everyone was so close and warm, like a family, and I was so happy to be able to work in such a relaxed atmosphere. And I was taken aback by the amount of alcohol lined up on the table in the studio lobby. I thought, “This is a really generous production!” (laughs) Long live youth!

  • Asami Seto as Chief

Cast comment (machine translated):

I'm Masami Seto, playing the role of the Chief! I love diving, so I was very happy to be able to participate in the world of Grand Blue. I got to experience firsthand the professionalism of the regular cast members, from the fast-paced banter and quick-witted exchanges to the ad-libs. It was hard to hold back my laughter, and it was the first time I've ever laughed so hard during a voice recording session...! Of course, there are scenes full of Grand Blue's signature gags, but there are also heartwarming scenes depicting romance set against the backdrop of the beautiful sea of Palau. Please look forward to the broadcast!

  • Aya Suzuki as Maki

Cast comment (machine translated):

I'm Aya Suzaki, who plays Maki! I'm so glad I have my diving license~!! (I heard that was one of the deciding factors in my casting) Maki is energetic, cheerful, and likes dirty jokes a little bit (lol), so it was fun to play her. I was struggling to hold back my laughter every time at the recording studio...! There were lots of cans of alcohol lined up in the lobby, and I was told to take as many as I wanted each time, so I gratefully took some home (lol). I'm looking forward to seeing the finished video too! Please look forward to the broadcast!!

Shinji Takamatsu is the director, scriptwriter, and sound director of the Grand Blue anime at studios Zero-G and Liber. Hideoki Kusama is the character designer and chief animation director. Yukari Hashimoto composes the music.

The anime is based on the popular manga written by Kenji Inoue and illustrated by Kimitake Yoshioka. It began serialising in Kodansha’s Good! Afternoon magazine since 2014. The first season of the Grand Blue Dreaming anime premiered in 2018. After seven years of waiting, the series came back with its second season in 2025. Kodansha publishes the series in English and describes the story as:

After graduating from an all-boys’ high school, Iori Kitahara moves away from home to go to college in a seaside town. He’s eager to start a new chapter in his life–one filled with dreams of reinventing himself, meeting beautiful girls, and reveling in his youth. But when his new abode is his uncle’s dive shop, Iori’s college debut doesn’t turn out as glamorously as he planned! Can Iori keep himself afloat, or will the booze-fueled antics of his university’s diving club wash him away?!

A coming-of-age tale with beer, bums, and the Grand Blue!
