Crunchyroll will stream the anime when it airs.
Crunchyroll has revealed at New York Comic Con 2026 that the anime adaptation of the Ghost of Tsushima game, titled “Ghost of Tsushima: Legends” has been delayed from 2027 to 2028. Alongside the new release window, additional cast and staff members for the series have also been revealed.

What do we know about the “Ghost of Tsushima: Legends” anime so far?
The anime series has been delayed to 2028, a reason has not been disclosed as to why. Crunchyroll will stream the anime globally as it airs.
The series has revealed two new cast members Mayumi Sako and Shinya Fukumatsu in unspecified roles.
Takanobu Mizuno is directing the anime at Kamikaze Douga. Gen Urobuchi is penning the series composition and also writing the scripts with Renji Oki. Takashi Okazaki designs the characters. HAYATE is producing the series in collaboration with Aniplex and PlayStation Productions. Sony Music is serving as music and soundtrack partner.

What is Ghost of Tsushima: Legends about?
The anime is based on the Ghost of Tsushima action-adventure video game which came out in 2020. It tells the story of Jin Sakai, a samurai tasked to protect Tsushima Island during the first Mongol invasion of Japan at the time of the Kamakura Shogunate. Its multiplayer mode, Ghost of Tsushima: Legends, was released in October of 2020, and made available separately in September 2021.
A sequel game titled Ghost of Yōtei was released in 2025. It features a new protagonist and a story 300 years after Jin Sakai’s adventures, set in Hokkaido.
