The upcoming anime adaptation of Oreco Tachibana’s manga “Firefly Wedding” has just released a new trailer. The update announced that the series will premiere on 9 October, 2026, and also revealed additional cast members. Moreover, details about the show’s ending theme song were also revealed.

What do we know about the Firefly Wedding anime so far?
The two new voice actors joining the anime’s cast are:
- Kent Itō as Kōtarō Ogawa
- Kenjirō Tsuda as Mitsueda
Previously announced main cast members of the anime include:
- Lynn as Satoko Kirigaya
- Koki Uchiyama as Shinpei Goto
TOOBOE performs the anime’s ending theme song ‘Yumegokochi’ (Trance), which is previewed in the new trailer.
Takahiro Kamei directs the anime at David Productions, with Yukiko Akikei designing the characters. The new update also announced that the series composition will be done by Yuko Kakihara, while NOGRID composes the music.
What is Firefly Wedding about?
The Firefly Wedding manga, created by Oreco Tachibana, began publishing on Shogakukan’s Ura Sunday manga website and MangaONE app back in January 2023. The final chapter of the manga came out on 2 February, 2026.
Viz Media publishes the physical copies of the manga in English and describes the story as:
Afflicted with a heart condition, Meiji-era noblewoman Satoko is determined to secure a marriage that will benefit her family before she dies. But before she can realize her goal, she’s targeted by a mysterious assassin named Shinpei. In a last-ditch effort to save her life, she asks her would-be murderer to marry her. Her proposal isn’t sincere, but unfortunately for her, Shinpei loves as intensely as he kills. Can Satoko find a way to break the engagement without losing her life?
