The OVA will be released theatrically in Japan on 13 November.
Back in June, it was announced that the new Fairy Princess Minky Momo anime OVA, titled “Fairy Princess Minky Momo: A Duo of Sincerity Toward a Dream of Longing” (Mahō no Princess Minky Momo: Akogare no Yume e Magokoro no Duo), will be getting a theatrical release in Japan on 13 November. In a new update, the project released a new teaser, visual, and cast details. This project is the first addition to the anime franchise in 32 years.

The story of the OVA centres around a girl named Momo, who receives a smartphone as a present on her 12th birthday, and awakens as Minky Momo. She learns of a faraway land named Diginarsa which is filled with hopes and dreams and maintains its existence through dream energy. But the land is now disappearing as humans start to lose their dreams and hope. As a last resort, the land’s king sends his three companions Chamocha, Dettabook, and Pipirupi to Minky Momo for help.
After learning of their plight and awakening her powers, Momo resolves to help Diginarsa. Momo begins collecting dream energy, but a mysterious app suddenly makes an appearance. But Momo realises that the dreams children are talking about on the app are frivolous ones driven by the greed to gain followers and recognition. She begins questioning the depth of everyone’s dreams.
What is Fairy Princess Minky Momo about?
Originally known as Magical Princess Minky Momo, this series is part of a classic magical girl anime franchise created by Ashi Productions. The original anime aired from 1982 to 1983, and also spawned three OVAs which aired between 1985 and 1987. A second series titled Magical Princess Minky Momo: Hold on to Your Dreams aired from 1991 to 1992. A manga titled Miracle Dream Minky Momo began in 2004. The series got its Fairy Princess Minky Momo when it was released globally in English.
