A brand new key visual has been revealed for the upcoming movie.
It was announced a while back that the 45th 2D anime movie in the Doraemon franchise, titled Nobita and the New Castle of the Undersea Devil (Eiga Doraemon Shin Nobita no Kaiteiki Ganjō) will premiere on 27 February, 2026. The film is a revisit of the fourth film in the franchise, titled Doraemon: Nobita and the Castle of the Undersea Devil, which came out in 1983.
Nobita and the New Castle of the Undersea Devil anime movie details
In October, it was announced that two new voice actors will be joining the cast of the film. This includes:
- Shōya Chiba as El (A soldier from the Mu Federation who keeps an eye on Doraemon and his friends when they arrive at the bottom of the sea.)
- Ryō Hirohashi as Mizunaka Buggy (An amphibious car which is one of Doraemon’s gadgets.)
Other cast members of the film includes:
- Wasabi Mizuta as Doraemon
- Megumi Ōhara as Nobita
- Yumi Kakazu as Shizuka
- Subaru Kimura as Gian
- Tomokazu Seki as Suneo
Tetsuo Yajima, known for his work on many other Doraemon projects, directs the movie. Another anime veteran Isao Murayama is writing the scripts.
The upcoming 45th 2D film (not counting the 3D CG movies in the Stand By Me Doraemon franchise), remakes the older classic Doraemon film Doraemon: Nobita and the Castle of the Undersea Devil. At which capacity the new movie will resemble the old one is still unknown, but it gives the die-hard Doraemon fans a chance to revisit the classic from 1983.
