A new trailer has been released for the upcoming dodgeball anime “Honō no Tōkyūjo: Dodge Danko”. The anime will begin airing on 6 July, 2026. Moreover, the new trailer also unveiled additional cast, staff, and theme song details.
The anime is based on the Honō no Tōkyūjo: Dodge Danko manga, which in turn is a sequel of the original Honō no Tōkyūji: Dodge Danpei anime.

Noriko Hidaka, who voiced Danpei Ichigeki in the original Honō no Tōkyūji: Dodge Danpei anime is reprising her role for the scenes which are set in the past. She is also narrating the new anime.

The opening theme song of the anime is ‘Kaishin no Ichigeki’ (A Masterful Play) performed by the girl group Momoiro Clover Z. The ending theme song is Welcome to Azatosa World performed by the voice acting idol unit i☆Ris.
Hiroshi Ikehata directs the anime at CUE, with Hazuho Hyōdō writing the scripts. Narihito Sekikawa designs the characters and also serves as the chief animation director. Newly announced staff members include:

What is Honō no Tōkyūji: Dodge Danko about?
The anime is based on the 2022 Honō no Tōkyūji: Dodge Danko manga by Tetsuhiro Koshita. It’s a sequel of Koshita’s original 1989 manga Honō no Tōkyūji: Dodge Danpei.
The story follows Danko Ichigeki, who is also joining the dodgeball team much like the original protagonist Danpei Ichigeki.
