The VA voices the character of Ran Mōri in the popular anime.
Talent agency Aoni Production has announced that voice actress Wakana Yamazaki, who voices the character of Ran Mōri in the “Detective Conan” anime, is going on a hiatus. The break is due to a medical treatment the VA is going through.

In lieu of the hiatus announcement, the official accounts of the Detective Conan anime have revealed that during Yamazaki’s absence, Akemi Okamura (Nami in One Piece) will be replacing her as Ran Mōri temporarily. Okamura will voice Ran in the 14 March episode. The announcement has also revealed that Yamazaki has already finished her recording for the Detective Conan: Fallen Angel of the Highway movie which will be released in Japan on 10 April.
Beside Ran Mōri, whom Yamazaki has been voicing since 1996, her other longest running anime role is Ayane in Dead or Alive. She has also voiced Suzuna in InuYasha, and Monica in Trigun.
