“Dark Moon The Blood Altar” anime airs on 9 January

The anime adaptation is based on the Webtoon of the same name. 

It was previously announced that HYBE and ENHYPEN’s upcoming anime Dark Moon: The Blood Altar, based on the Webtoon of the same name, will air in January. It was confirmed by the official website and X (formerly Twitter) account of the anime that the series will premiere on 9 January, 2026.

The main cast of the anime includes: 

  • Heli voiced by Kikunosuke Toya
  • Jino voiced by Shugo Nakamura
  • Shion voiced by Shunichi Toki
  • Noa voiced by Chiaki Kobayashi
  • Solon voiced by Jin Ogasawara
  • Jukah voiced by Yūto Uemura
  • Sooha voiced by Fūka Izumi

Shoko Shiga directs the anime at TROYCA with Toko Machida handling the scripts. Masami Inomata is designing the characters while naotyu (Naoki Chiba) composes the music. Takatoshi Hamano is the sound director of the anime. Crunchyroll will stream the anime globally once it begins. 

The Webtoon and its anime adaptation are based on HYBE’s K-pop boy band ENHYPEN. Each of the main characters is a fictionalised version of one of the seven members of the group. Webtoon describes the story as:

Welcome to Riverfield, where the most popular boys at two rival schools happen to be vampires and werewolves. When a mysterious new student, Sooha, transfers to Riverfield, the rivals find themselves inexplicably drawn to her. As horrible incidents start to shake the town, the boys’ forgotten pasts slowly start to unravel… and their world turns upside down.
