Who worked on the two specials of The Quintessential Quintuplets?
The first special, titled The Quintessential Quintuplets∽, was directed by Yukihiro Miyamoto at studio SHAFT. Keiichiro Ochi handled series composition while Kazuya Shiotsuki and Masato Katsumata designed the characters. Hanae Nakamura and Miki Sakurai composed the music. The special was released in Japan theatrically on 14 July, 2023.
The second special, titled The Quintessential Quintuplets＊, was directed by Masato Jinbo at Bibury Animation Studios, who also wrote the series composition. Masato Katsumata designed the characters while Hanae Nakamura, Miki Sakurai and Natsumi Tabuchi composed the music. The special was released theatrically in Japan on 20 September, 2024.
What is The Quintessential Quintuplets about?
The anime is based on Negi Haruba’s manga series which was serialised in Kodansha's Weekly Shōnen Magazine from August 2017 to February 2020. The first season of the anime, produced by Tezuka Productions, came out in 2019. The second season, by Bibury Animation Studios, was released in 2021. A sequel movie to the second season, titled The Quintessential Quintuplets Movie, came out in 2022.
