Crunchyroll Manga expands globally, while a new division is launched for anime and live-action

Crunchyroll Manga is now available for fans in the UK, Ireland, India, Australia and New Zealand.

During the inaugural Crunchyroll Anime Future Forum in New York City on 7 October, it was announced that Crunchyroll Manga is expanding to new territories! The expansion includes the UK, Ireland, India, Australia and New Zealand, and more. 

Moreover, Sony Pictures Entertainment also introduced the brand new Crunchyroll Storyworks division, which will focus on live-action adaptations of anime, and anime adaptations of global stories! 

What locations is the Crunchyroll Manga site expanding to?

Crunchyroll Manga has expanded to  new territories including the United Kingdom, Ireland, Australia, New Zealand, India, Bangladesh, Bhutan, Maldives, Nepal, Pakistan and Sri Lanka. Over 250+ titles from leading publishers are available to read in localised English in these regions. The publishers from whom these manga come include Square Enix, J-Novel Club and Yen Press. 

Some of the manga titles now available to read on Crunchyroll Manga in these countries include: The Apothecary Diaries, My Dress-Up Darling, Bocchi the Rock!, Bungo Stray Dogs, Delicious in Dungeon, Lycoris Recoil, Sasaki and Miyano, Campfire Cooking in Another World with My Absurd Skill, Konosuba: God's Blessing on This Wonderful World! and more. 

Crunchyroll has also teased that many more titles are coming after the expansion, including a “fan-favorite action IP” from VIZ Media. 

Crunchyroll Manga is a premium add-on for many members, and it also comes included with the Ultimate Fan membership in a few countries. In India, Crunchyroll Manga is only available through the Ultimate Fan membership. 

What is the new Crunchyroll Storyworks division?

As announced by Sony Pictures Entertainment, Crunchyroll Storyworks is a new division which is focused on adapting global stories into anime, and adapting fan-favourite anime titles into live-action series/movies. Sony’s Tohru Iokibe is leading this new division. 

The new division will work with Japanese creators on projects for HAYATE Inc. This is a new anime production venture from Crunchyroll and Aniplex. HAYATE Inc. was founded in March 2025 and is led by Aniplex's Masanori Miyake as its Chairman and CEO and President and COO Leo Watanabe. HAYATE’s goal is to plan, develop, and produce anime for Crunchyroll’s streaming platform. The company inquired all shares of the animation studio Lay-duce.
