The anime adaptation was announced back in March of this year.
The upcoming Japanese anime adaptation of the popular Chinese manhua “Shang Shan” has revealed a premiere window of April 2027, alongside its first promotional video. The series will be titled “Shōzen” in Japanese.
The anime will be broadcast on Fuji TV's “B8Station” and other networks, although it is yet to be confirmed if the series will receive a global release.

The anime is based on Jiang Jia Meizi’s fantasy adventure web manhua Shang Shan, which began publishing in 2013 on the u17 website (which is now bilibili Comic). CITIC Press published the first book volume in January 2025.
The story follows a Taoist priest named Dozen, who discovers a little girl while fighting a demon one day. He realises that the girl was raised by the demon, and grew up eating demon cores, which has altered her constitution. Dozen takes the girl in as his disciple and names her Shōzen. Together, they travel through the troubled lands performing various exorcisms, while also helping Shōzen get in touch with her human side and learn about love.
