The popular manga series “Cells at Work!” (Hataraku Saibō) is getting a new spin-off. The November issue of Kodansha’s Shōnen Sirius magazine announced that Akane Shimizu’s manga is getting a spin-off series by Koma Warita and Kawede Sakaki. The new series is titled “Cells at Work! Dental” (Hataraku Saibō Dental), and will be released in the magazine’s next issue on 26 October.

When is the Cells at Work! Dental manga coming?
The first chapter of the new dental spin-off will be released on 26 October, 2026, in the next issue of the Shōnen Sirius magazine. No details about a possible English language release have been revealed yet. The new series will take place inside the mouth, which has its own problems and battles.
The two most recent spin-offs of the Cells at Work! manga are Cells at Work! Medicine and Cells at Work! Cat. The first manga ended in May 2025 while the other ended in March 2026.
The original Cells at Work! manga by Akane Shimizu was serialised from January 2015 to January 2021 in Kodansha’s Monthly Shōnen Sirius magazine. It received an anime adaptation in 2018 and a live-action movie adaptation in 2024.
K Manga currently releases Cells at Work! and some of its spin-offs digitally and describes the story as:
