When is the Bungo Stray Dogs STORM BRINGER manga coming back?

The October issue of the Shōnen Ace magazine revealed that the Bungo Stray Dogs STORM BRINGER manga will be going on an indefinite hiatus as the creator Shiwasu Hoshikawa is facing some health issues. The return date for the manga will be revealed by the magazine’s editorial team at a later date.

Hoshikawa launched the manga in Kadokawa’s Shōnen Ace magazine in January 2025.

The story of the spin-off manga takes place after the Arahabaki Incident, a year after Chhuya Nakahara joined the Port Mafia. An European detective named Adam approaches Chuuya with the goal of protecting him from Paul Verlaine, also known as the king of assassins. Paul claims to be Chuuya’s older brother and won’t stop until he has murdered everyone around Chuuya.

The STORM BRINGER manga is a spin-off of the original Bungo Stray Dogs manga written by Kafka Asagiri and illustrated by Sango Harukawa. It has been serialised in Kadokawa’s Young Ace magazine since 2012. The manga also received an anime adaptation in 2016.

Yen Press publishes the Bungo Stray Dogs manga in English and describes the story as:

Having been kicked out of the orphanage, a despairing young man by the name of Atsushi Nakajima rescues a strange man from a suicide attempt--Osamu Dazai. Turns out that Dazai is part of a detective agency staffed by individuals whose supernatural powers take on a literary bent!
